Who are we?
Booktrust is the national charity that encourages people of all ages and cultures to discover and enjoy reading.
As an independent charity, Booktrust can offer thoroughly impartial advice on finding the right books for the right person.
Booktrust offers a range of booklists, publications and resources for schools, organisations and individuals, as well as coordinating a range of book prizes and national projects such as Bookstart.

Alexandra Strick is a freelance consultant specialising in children’s books and disability issues.
She headed up Booktrust’s children’s literature activity for nearly five years, reviewed for The Guardian and has managed a range of projects working with disabled children and young people.

This resource has been developed with monies transferred from the now disbanded charity REACH (the national advice centre for children with reading difficulties), including a legacy from Peter Sullivan (who worked for many years at the Bodley Head publishers).
